[EI-7 — Publication Architecture]

EI-7 — Publication Architecture

Status: IN PROGRESS
Started: 2026-08-08

Objective

Separate the editorial roles of the Francisco Rodríguez web properties so personal publication, technology education, technology news, operated publications, active teaching operations, and historical material do not compete for the same information architecture.

The current domain model is:

  • paco.org — personal publication and archive: Blog posts, personal observations, entertainment, social/check-in material, career material, biography/CV/portfolio, journalism/history, The Loudmouth, and selected historical material.
  • idtprof.net — technology education publication: original education and teaching posts, durable lessons and course resources, education-sector news, technology news relevant to teaching subjects, and education commentary.
  • paco.io — technology publication: general technology news, PTIR, technology commentary, projects/tools, experiments, and selected technical/digital-garden material.
  • firg.xyz / idtprof/portal — operational teaching dashboard. This repository remains read-only unless a specific change is explicitly authorized.

Placement is determined primarily by editorial purpose. Topic and authorship remain useful signals but are not absolute rules.

Work packages

EI-7.1 — Multi-site responsibility audit — COMPLETE

Inspected idtprof/pacodotorg, idtprof/idtprofnet, idtprof/paco.io, and read-only idtprof/portal; identified overlaps, contradictions, domain roles, and migration risks.

EI-7.2 — paco.org authored-publication model — COMPLETE

Restored Blog as the canonical chronological authored stream, retained Featured and Subjects as separate discovery mechanisms, removed PTIR from authored navigation/feed logic, and corrected authorship metadata. /writing/ remains a compatibility redirect to /blog/.

Implemented in docs/EI-7.2-PACO-ORG-AUTHORED-PUBLICATION-MODEL.md.

EI-7.3 / EI-7.3R — idtprof.net education publication boundary — COMPLETE

EI-7.3 first established a durable teaching boundary. EI-7.3R broadened the model to the approved technology education publication role: teaching posts, reusable lessons/course resources, education reporting, teaching-subject news, and original education commentary.

Curated outside reporting must identify and link to the original source, summarize rather than reproduce it, and add educational context.

EI-7.4 — paco.io technology publication architecture — COMPLETE

Preserved the existing Antigravity-built retro terminal / Obsidian-vault interface while defining paco.io as the technology publication. Technology News, PTIR, projects/tools, and Vault material now have explicit roles without converting the site into a conventional personal blog.

PTIR received a native /ptir/ destination and operated-publication metadata contract.

EI-7.5 — PTIR extraction and migration — COMPLETE

Migrated all 23 PTIR editions from paco.org to paco.io, spanning July 28 through August 8, 2026.

Completed migration guarantees:

  • original publication dates, titles, bodies, and explicit permalink paths preserved;
  • paco.io /ptir/ is the publication archive;
  • paco.io /ptir/feed.xml is the PTIR-specific Atom feed;
  • PTIR is distinct from general Technology News discovery;
  • all 23 former paco.org PTIR paths redirect to the identical paco.io path;
  • paco.org /ptir/ redirects to paco.io /ptir/;
  • paco.org authored /feed.xml remains PTIR-free;
  • the active morning/evening PTIR automation publishes future public editions to paco.io and emails the personalized edition;
  • the automation is explicitly prohibited from creating new PTIR posts on paco.org;
  • public paco.io editions use a neutral audience voice rather than addressing Francisco directly;
  • EI-1 privacy exclusions remain outside migration and production sources.

Key production commits:

  • paco.io migration merge: 3f5d386a0f7d0830993a47d6bdda792be8390c02
  • paco.org continuity redirect merge: 53fc3cc05e4f8926e3b9871c465f9ec16ab1b959

EI-7.6 — Cross-domain redirects and navigation — NEXT

Audit and implement the remaining cross-domain route, canonical, navigation, and ownership cues now that PTIR is migrated. Focus on stale personal material on idtprof.net, legacy CV/About/Blog routes, duplicate or ambiguous ownership, and deliberate cross-site navigation.

Do not modify idtprof/portal / firg.xyz unless a specific change is explicitly authorized.

EI-7.7 — Validation and closeout

Verify paco.org, idtprof.net, and paco.io plus read-only firg.xyz for route integrity, editorial ownership, authorship clarity, feeds, navigation, deployment, duplicate content, redirects, and privacy boundaries.

Constraints

  1. Use editorial purpose as the primary placement rule.
  2. Do not move personal material off paco.org merely because it concerns technology or teaching.
  3. Do not present PTIR as Francisco-authored work.
  4. Preserve migrated URLs, dates, provenance, and historical continuity.
  5. Preserve EI-1 privacy exclusions across every domain.
  6. Content classified DELETE—including protected Ben/Sophie material and associated excluded media—must never be republished or used as a production source.
  7. Do not modify idtprof/portal / firg.xyz without explicit authorization for a specific change.
  8. Preserve paco.io’s established Antigravity visual and interaction system unless a later approved change requires otherwise.
