Before technology education became the center of my professional work, I worked in newspapers, design, publishing, and multimedia. Older versions of paco.org represented that work as a maze of separate portfolio pages. This page consolidates the material that remains useful as a record of that part of my career.
Newspaper design
My newspaper work included editorial, sports, feature, and entertainment design for publications including Al Día, The Arlington Morning News, The Arlington Star-Telegram, and The Victoria Advocate.
At Al Día, I laid out the weekly La Vida entertainment supplement and designed its covers. I also produced Vivir feature pages and editorial/news pages. Those pages were built for print deadlines and for a bilingual daily-newspaper environment; the surviving scans and PDFs are archival masters rather than dependencies of the current website.
Newsletters and professional communications
At THERAPY 2000, I produced several recurring newsletters. Four served the company’s branches as internal communications. I also produced Express, an external publication whose audience and format evolved as the organization grew.
One Express project covered VitalStim therapy and combined print and multimedia work. It is retained here as an example of professional communications rather than as a standalone legacy microsite.
Multimedia and video
The portfolio also included web and multimedia production, including editorial and marketing video. That work belongs to the same professional history as the print material: communicating information across whatever medium the project required.
